You ARE the Westboro Baptist Church!

There is no group of people that it used to be okay to make fun of that it is still okay to make fun of.

Gays, lesbian, transgender, black, hispanic, woman, man, Jew, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, Irish, Polish, African, Chinese, etc... forever!  Because it's offensive to Germans, you can't even really do Nazis anymore.  NAZIS ARE PROTECTED!  That's how concrete this trend is!

How do people not understand that making fun of the "acceptable" groups to make fun of (Christians, Mormons, Scientologists, whites) is not going to be acceptable forever?  It's a fucking concrete trend!  These jokes didn't used to exist.  They've sprung up.  It's cool to hate them.  You're actually judged if you DON'T hate them.  And somehow it's... OKAY?!  Do you not see where this is going?  That you're going to awkwardly have to explain yourself in twenty years?  You aren't going to say "Oh yeah, those guys!  I used to hate them because of their religion and picked on them all the time.  I was so cool!"

Those are not words you're going to say!  Your children are going to look at you at best as out-of-touch or a "product of the times" and at worst, a monster.

This is spurred on because of an article on a "technology" website talking about a Satanic statue being crowdfunded to be put up next to a Christian statue which sits on government property, a donation from the church.  Everyone is so enthusiastic about it and I just want to yell at them, "Are you that narrow?!  If a Jewish statue commiserating the Holocaust was donated and put on government ground, you'd be okay with it!  If someone put a statue of Hitler next to it, you'd call it a hate crime!  I can fucking prove this!  The Westboro Baptist Church follows all the laws of the land and positions themselves next to targets that are not acceptable to attack, so everyone goes apeshit.  News flash!  You ARE the Westboro Baptist Church!  You just arrived 20 years early!"
